Can you produce the evidence our underwriters ask for in an audit?

Short answerYes, and the point is that it exists before they ask rather than being assembled the week of.

Underwriter audits and state examinations ask for the same categories of evidence repeatedly: your written information security program, proof that access is restricted and reviewed, patching and endpoint protection status, backup and restore verification, multi factor authentication enforcement, security awareness training completion, vendor due diligence, and incident response documentation.

All of that is a byproduct of managing your environment properly, so we maintain it continuously and hand it over on request. What we will not do is help you assemble a plausible-looking package the week before an audit for controls that were not actually running. That is how agencies end up in a worse position than if they had failed honestly.

If an examiner or underwriter comes back with a finding on the technical side, we address it and document the remediation. Your staff should not be the ones translating a security questionnaire.
