Veterinary clinics

Why does our practice software slow down during the day?

Short answerUsually the server, the database, or the network, and it is diagnosable rather than something you live with.

Slowness that gets worse as the day goes on typically traces to an aging server, a database that has never been maintained, a backup or antivirus scan running during business hours, or a network bottleneck between exam rooms and the server. Sometimes it is an antivirus product scanning the practice database because nobody configured the exclusions the vendor recommends.

Every one of those is fixable. Most clinics have simply been told this is normal.
