Veterinary clinics
How do we make sure patient records are backed up and recoverable?
Practice databases need to be backed up in a way that captures them consistently while in use. A file level copy of an open database can restore as something unusable, which clinics discover at the worst possible time.
We verify that the backup includes the database, the images, and anything else clinical, keep an isolated offsite copy, and test restores monthly rather than assuming.
On cost: the server your practice software runs on is backed up under a separate server backup line, quoted per server, with up to 1 TB of storage included for each. Your Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace data is covered under the per-user fee. For clinics the imaging is usually what drives storage, so we look at how fast your images are growing during the assessment rather than finding out when you pass the limit.
