Who to call to manage our systems
Who do we call to manage our backups?
Managed backup means someone is accountable for the restore working, not merely for the job completing. Those are different things and the gap between them is where businesses get destroyed.
What is covered: Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace backup, included in the per-user fee for managed clients, covering mail, calendars, contacts, OneDrive or Drive, SharePoint and Teams. Server backup is quoted separately per server with up to 1 TB of storage included for each. Everything we back up gets a test restore monthly, with results in your reporting.
Why the cloud part matters: Microsoft and Google keep the service running. They do not protect you from an employee deleting a folder, a ransomware event syncing to the cloud, or a mailbox emptied by an attacker. Retention and recycle bins are not backups, and finding that out during an incident is a bad day.
If you already have backups and just want to know whether they work, ask us to restore something. That question answers more than any report does, and the hesitation in a provider's response tells you the rest.
