Onboarding and switching

How does onboarding work for a company with eighty people and multiple offices?

Short answerSix to ten weeks, office by office, with the security floor established everywhere in the first two weeks.

Larger and multi-site onboarding runs differently from a single small office. The sequence we use:

  • Weeks 1 to 2, security floor everywhere. Management tools, monitoring, and endpoint protection deployed across all sites, multi factor authentication verified, backups validated, and your staff given support access. This happens simultaneously at every office, because leaving a location unprotected while you work through a queue is not acceptable.
  • Weeks 2 to 6, office by office. Full audit and documentation of each site: network, servers, line of business systems, vendor connections, and the local quirks. We generally start with the office that has the most problems rather than the easiest one.
  • Weeks 5 to 8, identity and access. Accounts, permissions, group structure, and access review across the organization. This is where a company your size finds the most surprises.
  • Weeks 8 to 10, handover. Documentation delivered, training for staff and any internal IT personnel, and a prioritized remediation plan with costs.

Time from your people: a few hours from a designated coordinator per week, walkthroughs at each site, and a short session for staff. We work around closings, month end, and whatever your busy period is.

The onboarding fee scales with size and number of sites and is quoted in advance as a fixed project.
