Support and response times
What happens when your help desk cannot fix it?
Short answerIt escalates on a clock, not on whether a technician decides to give up.
Most issues are resolved by the help desk. When something exceeds that, it moves to a senior technician, and the handoff is triggered by the ticket's age and severity rather than by someone eventually admitting they are stuck. That distinction matters, because the failure mode at a lot of providers is a junior tech quietly holding a ticket for four days.
You can also escalate it yourself. Say so and it moves. You should not have to be diplomatic about something that has been open too long.
Worth asking any provider: what is the longest a ticket can sit before somebody senior looks at it, and who makes that call.
