Who do we call to set up Outlook for our staff?
Short answerUs, and if we manage your computers it happens automatically when someone signs in.
For managed clients this is not really a task. A new starter signs into their machine and Outlook configures itself, along with their shared mailboxes, calendars, and signature. Nobody types a server name.
If you are not set up that way, we will do it, and while we are there the things worth doing properly:
- Shared mailboxes added correctly rather than as a second full account. Done the common wrong way, replies go out from the wrong address and sent items vanish into personal folders where nobody else can see them.
- Calendar permissions that match how you work. Most offices want colleagues to see free and busy but not the details, and the default is often not that.
- Signatures applied centrally so they are consistent and can be changed for everyone at once.
- Phones connected properly using modern authentication, so a lost phone can be cut off without changing anyone's password.
The shared mailbox one causes more day to day annoyance than anything else on this list, and it is a ten minute fix.
