Break-fix or monthly agreement

How do we know a monthly agreement is worth it for us specifically?

Short answerAdd up what last year actually cost you, including the hours you and your staff spent on it.

Do this before you talk to any provider, including us. Pull last year's IT invoices, then add:

  • Hours you personally spent on computer problems, valued at what your time is actually worth
  • Hours your staff spent, especially whoever has quietly become the unofficial IT person
  • Any time the business could not operate, at what an hour of downtime costs you
  • Anything you have been putting off because you did not know who to call

Most owners are surprised by the result, because the invoices turn out to be the smallest line. The time is the expensive part and it never shows up on a bill.

Then ask what an agreement would cost. If the numbers do not justify it, we will tell you so. We would rather have an hourly client who trusts us than a managed client who resents the invoice every month.
