What is the difference between managed IT services and break-fix IT support?

Under break-fix, your provider makes money when your systems fail. That is a bad incentive structure for both of you, and it means nobody is patching, monitoring, or testing backups between emergencies.

Managed IT is a flat monthly fee covering support and proactive maintenance. Your costs become predictable and your provider is financially motivated to keep things quiet. We still do hourly work for clients who genuinely only need occasional help, but we are direct about which model fits.
