The questions people hesitate to ask
Who do we call for QuickBooks or accounting software questions?
A clear line, because this one causes genuine confusion.
Not us: how to record a transaction, how to reconcile, what to do at year end, how to run a particular report, whether something is categorized correctly. That is accounting, your bookkeeper or CPA does it, and we would be doing you a disservice by guessing.
Us: installing and updating it, multi-user setups and the file sharing that goes with them, performance when the company file is slow over the network, making sure it is in the backup, hosting it if you want access from multiple locations, and the access controls around who can open the financial data at all.
Two things worth knowing. Multi-user QuickBooks over a network is fussy and a frequent source of slowness complaints, and the fix is usually configuration rather than the software being bad. And if you are moving to a hosted or cloud version, we can help, but the decision about which product is the accountant's call rather than ours.
The one we do care about: whether your accounting data is actually in the backup. It is a file like any other, and it is one of the two or three that would genuinely hurt to lose.
