Ownership and control

We wrote our own scripts and automation. Will you maintain them?

Short answerUsually yes, once documented. Where we cannot support something well, we will say so instead of pretending.

Owner-written automation is common and frequently better than what it replaced, because the person who wrote it understood the business. We will take it on, document it properly, and maintain it, provided it is built in something we work in and we can read it.

What we will not do is pretend. If something is written in a language or platform we are not strong in, you will hear that up front, along with the options: leave it with you and we work around it, rebuild it in something we can support, or bring in someone who specializes.

Either way it gets documented. Right now it probably exists only in your head, which is fine until the week you are unreachable.
