The questions people hesitate to ask
What happens when you break something?
Short answerYou hear about it immediately, from the person involved, and we fix it at our cost.
It happens. A patch with an unexpected consequence, a change nobody predicted the effect of, an honest mistake. Anyone who has been doing this for years and tells you otherwise is not being straight with you.
What we do: tell you as soon as we know. Not after it is quietly fixed, and certainly not after you noticed. The person who made the mistake is part of that conversation rather than a manager running damage control. We fix it on our time, and we tell you what changed in how we work so it does not repeat.
The thing that ends relationships is not the mistake. It is finding out about it later, from somebody else.
