The questions people hesitate to ask
Tell us what you could sell us that we do not actually need.
Short answerPlenty. We would rather name it than have you assume all of it is padding.
Things commonly sold to businesses your size that frequently are not worth the money:
- A second backup product when the first is configured correctly and actually tested
- Security tools layered on top of capability you already own and have not turned on, which is extremely common with Microsoft licensing
- A server for a business that could run entirely on cloud services
- Enterprise grade equipment at a scale where the business grade version will serve you for years
- Compliance packages for frameworks that do not apply to you
We will tell you when something falls in this category. If you want it anyway for reasons of your own, that is your call and we will do it, but you will know which bucket it is in.
Ask every provider this question and watch what happens. The ones who cannot name a single thing are the ones to be careful with.
